Pearlescent is a unique range of water based acrylic colors producing a shimmering pearl effect which changes as the light strikes from different angles. These acrylic based inks are water soluble when wet but dry to a water resistant film. All colors are extremely lightfast.
The Pearlescent colors contain the same resin as the FW Inks, but the pigments are larger in particle size, so will not go through fine line airbrush nozzles nor will they be suitable for technical pens or fountain pens. The best means of applying Pearlescent colors is by using a dip pen, ruling pen or brush.
The shimmering pearl effect created by these colors is startling. All colors are intermixable. They are permanent and translucent, but work best when put down freely rather than when applied in successive layers of color.
