Cretacolor uses high-grade, fireproof ceramic clay in all of its graphite products. The result is a line of drawing tools with high breaking strength. Different grades are made at one time and are achieved by varying the amount of clay and graphite.

Cretacolor drawing charcoal is produced using a special deep-firing method, resulting in a dense, rich charcoal of great depth. Made from a mixture of clay and charcoal particles, it produces a precise and consistent stroke.
